Simple Vanilla cake with whipped cream

So! what is your favourite type of cake? Very chocolaty? Simple and fruity?...
So today I'm here to show you guys how to make the perfect Vanilla cake with the perfect whipped cream on top.

Ingredients for the cake:

 250g of self raising flour
250g of  sugar
250g of butter
1/2 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
3 tbsp of milk
4 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

For the whipped cream:
600 ml double cream
4 tbsp of sugar

Method for the cake:

Start by preheating the oven to 170°C fan/375°F/gas 5.
Using an electric beaters or a tabletop mixer beat the flour, sugar, bicarbonate of soda and the butter until well combined.
Then mix the milk and the vanilla extract together and slowly mix it with the other ingredients.
Beat for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Meanwhile grease a cake tin then line the base and sides with non-stick baking paper.
Put the cake mix onto the tin and bake it for around 30-45 minutes.
Once the cake is baked let it cool.

Method for the whipped cream:

With an electric beater beat the double cream adding each spoon of sugar at a time.
Keep beating until a soft smooth cream.
TIPS: do not beat the cream for too long or else the double cream will turn liquid again.

Cut the cake in half.
With a spoon start spreading the whipped cream on one half of the cake then place the other half on top a cover it all with whipped cream.

Add some berries on top to decorate and that's your delicious vanilla cake done.
